  • Doesn’t require an external power supply as it supplies power to the Raspberry Pi module and manages it efficiently across the board

Better quality with at a suitable price; HiFiBerry AMP2 is great fun for the people looking to enjoy high-definition sound at a shoestring budget. In addition to the provision of more power to the speakers attached, AMP2 also feed Raspberry module requiring no external power supply.

The outlook of AMP2 is superior to that of AMP+. The black now replaces the green. There are some hardware upgrades with AMP2 to increase the performance. Overall, it is definitely a good purchase, keeping the low price in mind.

Precaution

Despite the stated 12V-24V, we don’t recommend you try over 18V unless you have connected an 8-Ohm speaker. In the case of below 8-Ohm speakers, don’t jump above the 18V limit. In addition, you need to check the charger you are using as the power supply. Some laptop chargers don’t actually provide the exact value mentioned on the tag. The fact is, laptop chargers are designed to be compatible with a specific laptop and there is some sort of negotiation between the actual and stated voltage. You need to make sure that the power supply you are using doesn’t feature a voltage differential.

In case if you don’t have the compatible software to support AMP2 Output then you need to use HiFiBerry DAC+ (Driver).
